Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a profit that will never perish. Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center welcomes Imam Farhan Siddiqi as its Resident Imam and Director of Religious Affairs. After an extensive national search and interviews with qualified candidates, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center extended an offer of employment to Imam Farhan that he accepted. Imam Farhan was born in Ohio but mostly raised in Connecticut, he graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Biology with a plan to apply for medical school. He decided to change course in his life and specialize in serving the Muslim community through Da’wah and Islamic work. That caused him to travel to Makkah and enroll at Umm al Qura University, earning bachelor degrees in Arabic language and Islamic Studies. Imam Farhan returned to the US and has been working as a Resident Imam for a community in New Jersey, while working on completing his Masters Thesis in the Sciences of Hadith from Umm al Qura University. Imam Farhan is married and has four children.
Imam Farhan Siddiqi will be joining a team of senior staff including Imam Shaker Elsayed our Director of Family Services, Imam Naeem Baig our Director of Outreach, among other notable team members to provide our community with authentic Islamic Religious rulings and understanding as the Center looks to the future achieving its short and long term goals.
Imam Farhan’s role as the Resident Imam and Director of Religious Affairs will be to provide spiritual and religious guidance in addition to leading prayers and Jumuah Khutbahs. Imam Farhan will take lead of the Educational Department at Dar Al-Hijrah to fashion Islamic programming that will focus on educating our community and our youth.
