Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Oversight:
Oversee the implementation of Social Services programs, ensuring that all activities align with the organization’s mission, program requirements, and community needs. Identify opportunities for program improvement and innovation.
2. Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow and service delivery. Address operational challenges and implement solutions in a timely manner.
3. Team Leadership:
Provide leadership and guidance to the team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and motivate high-quality individual and team performance. Collaborate with the team to ensure effective program delivery and service quality.
4. Client Support:
Oversee the provision of comprehensive services and ensure client access to essential resources.
5. Quality Assurance:
Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards in program delivery. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
6. Community Engagement:
Build and maintain positive relationships with local community partners, stakeholders, and clients to enhance service delivery and the availability of resources and support. Represent the department in community meetings and events as needed.
7. Budget Management:
Manage program budgets and ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives.
8. Reporting and Evaluation:
Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to program outcomes and community needs. Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding agencies on program activities, outcomes, and challenges.
9. Compliance:
Ensure that departmental activities comply with organizational policies and relevant regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for programs and services. Stay informed about changes in policies that may impact program operations.

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the Edsall Rd building under the direction of the Operational Manager and the leadership of Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center. This role helps ensure the smooth daily functioning of programs, facilities, staff coordination, and community use of the building.
The Assistant Operations Manager plays a key executional role by translating operational plans into effective daily action while upholding Islamic values, professionalism, accountability, and service to the community.
This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who excels in coordination, follow-through, and relationship management within a faith-based nonprofit environment.
Support daily operational workflows of the DAH - Alexandria.
Track operational tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups across departments.
Assist in preparing operational schedules, calendars, and internal communications.
Assist with expense tracking, invoices, purchase requests, and budget monitoring.
Support financial documentation preparation for monthly and quarterly reports.
Coordinate with finance staff to ensure compliance with DAH financial policies.
Assist with logistical support for fundraising events and donor-related activities.
Assist in onboarding new staff and volunteers (orientation, documentation, training schedules).
Support staff scheduling, coverage coordination, and time-tracking processes.

The Operational Manager reports directly to the DAH Executive Director and provides regular operational reports to the Joint Oversight Committee. The Joint Oversight Committee does not serve as a supervisory body but provides oversight and strategic guidance.

We are seeking an Assistant for our Thrift Shop in Falls Church, VA.
The Thrift Shop Assistant directly works on all aspects of the center’s Thrift Shop, including sorting donations, cash and credit sales, displays and pricing and coordinating with other shop staff and volunteers.
He/She reports directly to the Social Services Director of the center. The shop is open 10am -3pm, seven days a week.
Associate hours: 9:30am-3:30pm, 5 days a week
Pay: $15 per hour
Part-Time: 30 hrs/week
