Thousands Killed in Turkiye Earthquakes
Dar Al-Hijrah’s partner, Islamic Relief, has teams on the ground witnessing the horror first-hand – people trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings, and children separated from their families in the chaos.
Two deadly 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes devastated Türkiye this morning – the worst to hit the region in 20 years.
The earthquakes’ impact struck hard across Türkiye and Syria, with aftershocks even being felt across Lebanon, Iraq, Cyprus, and more.
At least 1,600 people have reportedly been killed across the region, and the death toll is rising by the hour.
Over 5,000 have been reported injured so far, and more than 2,800 homes, hospitals, schools, mosques, and other infrastructures have been reduced to rubble.
