Qubaa Islamic Institute is a Dar Al Hijrah education committee project. The purpose of the institute is to provide structured Islamic education in a classroom setting to allow for quality academic research and discussion. Students who complete the program will receive a certificate which will enable them to head halaqas, lead youth groups, and teach in weekend schools.

Qubaa Islamic Institute aims to empower Muslims in the west by providing sound Islamic knowledge through various classes and seminars, in order to produce generations of young Muslims who understand and apply Islam in their daily life.

Mission

Striving for academic excellence by providing each student the unique opportunity to develop a clear understanding of Islam and a deep spiritual connection to it’s morals and values.

Cost and Tuition

Each student will be required to pay a $25.00 registration fee and $200.00 tuition per course. Each student will be responsible for full tuition payment at the time of registration. Payment installments may be applied on a need basis.

Academic Calendar

The institute will operate on a semester basis. The duration of each semester will be 16 weeks. There will be two semesters per year.

Institute Certificate Program

Qubaa Institute will offer a certificate for students who complete a total of 12 required courses and any 2 electives. In addition, students will be required to attend a total of 2 seminars offered throughout the semesters.

Course Description

Aqeedah 101

This course will concentrate on basic understanding of the first four pillars of Iman: Belief in Allah, his angels, the holy books, and the messengers. This will be required for the certificate.

Aqeedah 102

This course will concentrate on basic understanding of the last two pillars of Iman: the day of Judgement and Qadar. This will be required for the certificate.

Fiqh of Worship 101

This course will concentrate on basic rulings regarding tahara and salah. This will be required for the certificate.

Fiqh of Worship 102

This course will concentrate on basic ruling regarding fasting, zakkah, and hajj. This will be required for the for certificate.

Fiqh of Transactions 101

This course will concentrate on Islamic rulings on business transactions. It will also cover rulings on interest transactions and loans. A very important and relevant class to business owners, students who loans, or people who are looking to buying property. This will be required for the for certificate.

Fiqh of Family 101

This course will concentrate on Islamic rulings on engagement, marriage & divorce. This is a great course for counselors, family lawyers, or students who just want to understand rules and regulations of these issues. This will be required for the certificate.

Fiqh of Family 102

This course will concentrate on Islamic rulings on children rights from birth until they become adults, custody issues in cases of divorce etc. A must take for counselors and family lawyers.

Fiqh of Minorities

This course will concentrate on Islamic rulings regarding Muslims living in the west. This is very

appropriate for students who plan on living in the west long term.

Hadeeth 101

This course is a study of the first half of “Jami` El Uloom Wal Hikam” which is a collection of fifty hadeeths that are essential to understand and apply in one’s life. This will be required for the certificate.

Hadeeth 102

This course is the study of the second half of “Jami` El Uloom Wal Hikam.” This will be required for the for certificate.

Tafseer 101

This course will cover a portion of the Quran chosen by the instructor. It will concentrate on

common concepts and larger themes emphasized throughout the Quran. This will be required for the certificate.

Tafseer 102

This course will cover a portion of the Quran chosen by the instructor. It will concentrate on common concepts and larger themes emphasized throughout the Quran.

Tajweed 101

Students will learn how to read the Quran correctly.

Quranic Sciences 101

This course will cover the history of the gathering and compiling of the Quran. It will shed light on how the Quran was preserved over the years to it’s current format. This will be required for the certificate.

Islamic Manner 101

This course will cover basic Islamic manners using “Manners of a Believer” for Sheik Al Ghazali. A great course for college students and those teaching younger students.

Islamic History 101

This course will concentrate on the Seerah of the Prophet pbuh. It will cover historic events with emphasis on lessons we can apply in our contemporary world. This will be required for the certificate.

Islamic History 102

This course will concentrate on the history of the four rightly guided Khalifs. It will concentrate on historic events with emphasis on lessons we can apply in our contemporary world. This will be required for the certificate.

Common Misconceptions about Islam

This course will concentrate on clarifying many of the common misconceptions about Islam in the west. The instructor will emphasize ways in which students can respond to those misconceptions in logical and convincing ways. A must take for college students and those involved in Dawah. This will be required for the certificate.

Spirituality in Islam

This course will concentrate on the spiritual aspect in Islam. It will cover the works of Ibn Al Qayyim.

Contemporary Islamic Thinkers

This course will shed light on the life and ideology of influential, contemporary Islamic thinkers. The emphasis will be on the varying ideologies and their contribution to the modern Islamic world.

Women in Islam

This course will concentrate on women rights in Islam. It will also shed light on women role models.

Arabic 101

This course will concentrate on basic reading and writing. A great course for students who want to begin exploring the Arabic Language.=

Arabic 102

This course will concentrate on advanced reading and writing. A great course for students who have basic Arabic abilities but want to further strengthen their language.
