Playground Campaign
In 1999, and as part of a settlement with CAIR, Nike built our masjid playground that has now broken down, filled with mold, and rusted out. Children of our community deserve a nicer playground, and we need your help to build it.
On #GivingTuesday, November 27th, we entered the LaunchGood competition where we could win up to $20,000 in donation matching by reaching the highest number of donors. By the Will of Allah SWT, alhamdulilah we won first place! We would like to thank Launchgood for this innovative and creative competition that has energized communities all across America and the globe and unified communities in pursuit of a righteous goal. Finally, we would like to congratulate all the other organizations on their amazing work and we ask Allah (SWT) to bless everyone’s efforts, time, and wealth inshAllah.
The Benefits of Play!
A playground isn’t only a place for kids to laugh, jump, swing, run, slide. Its nature’s colorful, open, hands-on classrooms that provide tremendous learning opportunities for kids of all ages. Research shows that outdoor free play gives kids many valuable benefits, including the development of physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills; all of which a child needs to fully develop. The great thing about playgrounds and play equipment is that they allow children to freely be around one another. They begin to step out of their comfort zone with new levels of self-confidence and self-esteem. Providing this space will give our youth a chance to gather and communicate, ultimately aiding their social interaction skills.

مَثَلُ الَّذِيۡنَ يُنۡفِقُوۡنَ اَمۡوَالَهُمۡ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ اَنۡۢبَتَتۡ سَبۡعَ سَنَابِلَ فِىۡ كُلِّ سُنۡۢبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُضٰعِفُ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيۡمٌ
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed (of grain) which grows seen spikes: in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies (His reward) for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing” (al-Baqara 2:261)
